The Stunning Time Lapses of Incredible Ladakh by Debarup Mukherjee – [Travelogue]

I was travelling in Ladakh on July 2016 for 12 days. I have started my journey from Kolkata.

Here is my road map of Ladakh trip.

Kolkata – Delhi – Manali – Sarchu – Tsomoriri – Leh – Nubra Valley – Leh – Pangong Tso – Leh – Kargil – Leh

It was a total road trip as I don’t want to miss any of the landscapes.

The most memorable roads were Manali to Sarchu and Leh to Kargil. The road Leh to Kargil is World Famous NH1 (National Highway 1). The part of this highway is called “Lakir”.

As per my planning I have choose some of rare places from where I can take some stunning time lapse photography. It was a very time consuming job. But during the time intervals I was just enjoying the beauty of mighty nature.

I have captured some of the memorable night sky photos out there. It was just dream comes true. It may be hard to believe that our own Galaxy Milky Way can be seen in naked eyes from any part of Ladakh. The sky is crystal clear with no pollution and in pitch dark night you can see billions of billion stars and meteor showers.

After returning back to my place when I was checking my camera, I have found that I have taken almost 8000 photos in 12 days. 5000 of them were from my Timelapse project. So, it was quite challenging to short those photos initially.

After shorting those timelapse photos, now time for editing. I have used Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop with Nik software. With some minor adjustments of brightness and contrast I got the actual outputs. Now it’s time for video editing. I have user Power Director to complete this Timelapse project and after 40+ days it was completed.

All photos were taken at the places like Leh, Nubra Valley which is 10,000 ft above the sea level, the World famous Pangong Tso (Lake) 14,270 ft above the sea level and under the temperature like 7°c – 8°c in the morning and -1°c to 0°c in the night.
